Well, friends, we all have heard about “online food delivery”. (Right?)

What is it actually? So, when you are hungry, and you don’t have the time to cook something or you are craving something? What do you do? Well, I am sure, you pick up your phone and search for restaurants near me. And as soon as click on the search button, you will see the list of all the available restaurants near you. And when you order from them, the food is delivered to your doorstep within 30 minutes.

Now if you also want to open your restaurant and deliver your food from your home only, then yes, you can do that too. Of course, you can do that.

For this training program, I would like to explain with the example of “Zomato”.

Zomato is a very good company, friends, who have reached the highest level in online delivery.

Well, yes, Zomato is one of the most famous online food delivery companies.

You are already aware of this.

Come let’s explore everything about it once again through an example.

So, this is what Zomato’s website looks like. You can simply type Zomato dot com and open this website.

You can order any type of food from any location in your city. You just have to type the name of the food that you want to order here.

For example, I am hungry and I want to order a thali, so, I am going to type “thali” here and when I press enter, all the restaurant options that are serving thali are listed in front of me.

You can enjoy any food just by getting it delivered to your doorstep.

Look, friends, the food looks mouthwatering just by having a look at the image. (Doesn’t it?)

Let me give you some good news friends. You can do this too friends. You can also sell your food online. Zomato is also an e-commerce platform, as you are purchasing and selling food.

Now, come let’s see how you can launch your business on Zomato easily?

So, look, the page that you see on your screen is the front page for every customer where they can easily buy your product.

Now, the second part of this is “Zomato business”. If you want your restaurant to tie up with Zomato or if you want to do a business or have a partnership with Zomato, then for such individuals, there is one more website that is Zomato for business.

You can easily search for this website on google by typing Zomato business and you will land on this page.

What is special about this? well, the specialty of this website is that you can get all the information here.

So, come let’s explore everything one by one.

The first thing is, “register your restaurant”. If you want to register your business then you have to click on this button here, “register your restaurant”.

But before clicking on this button, lets explore this whole page once.

Then down below, you can see “Why should you partner with Zomato?” (repeat)

So, Zomato is available in more than 500 cities, more than 2.5 lakhs restaurants are listed on Zomato, and there are more than 4 crore orders monthly.

Then, how does Zomato work?

So, step 1 for you is to “create your page on Zomato”. You own a restaurant, provide all the details about your restaurant to Zomato.

Then, “register for online ordering”. So, you have to register for online ordering and lastly, you will “start receiving orders online”.

Then if you already own a restaurant, then you will be listed here.

You can see all the testimonials here. People who are already registered with Zomato are sharing their experiences so that you can also get some confidence while registering your business.

Then, “what do you get on sign-up?”

So, when you sign up and register your restaurant on Zomato, Zomato will provide you with a “restaurant partner app” for your mobile so that when anyone orders, you can get a quick notification. Then they also provide you with a desktop version of their site and they provide “API integration” as well if you already own a website.

Now, look friends, before registering you should know some basic things like “what will Zomato charge me for creating a page on its platform?” Do I have to pay any charges for listing my restaurant on Zomato?

Well, good news guys. It is free of cost. Look, amazon will not charge you anything. “Creating a restaurant page on Zomato is free of cost”. Yes.

“You can maintain your page by replying to reviews and do a lot more without any charges”. So, setting up your business is free of cost here and you don’t have to pay a single penny to do so. (Got it?)

Then, “what all documents are required?”

Well friends, the most important document is “The FSSAI certificate”. Yes. (Repeat).

Now, what is FSSAI, and how to get the certificate?

Come, let’s have a look at this in a new tab.

So, when you type “FSSAI registration” in google, you will see a government website, and when you click on “apply for new license” here. Look this government certificate is mandatory if you are working with Zomato or any other government company.

Before starting your journey of online food ordering on e-commerce, you must have this license. So, for that, you have to apply for a new license on this government website.

As soon as you click on apply for a new license, you have to select a state here. For example, if you are from Maharashtra, then select Maharashtra, then if you are from Gujarat or Andhra Pradesh, select accordingly. We are going to select Maharashtra here.

After selecting the state, click on here “food services” down below. Then, further down, you will see a list of options, from which you have to select “restaurants”. According to your business, select your turnover here. If you have just started, then click on the last option which is “turnover up to 12 lakhs per Anum.

After this, scroll all the way down and click on “proceed”.

After you proceed, you will have to fill out an application form.

After you submit the application, the government agents will give you a date a few days later, you have to go and there are some sorts of checking. The whole process takes up to 10 to 15 days. After that, you will receive your license in your email. And after you receive your license, you have to upload it on Zomato’s website.

Then you have to upload your pan card and GST certificate as well. Look, GST certificate is optional here because some restaurants are not included under GST while some of them are included under GST.

If GST is applicable for your restaurant, then only you have to provide your GST certificate.

For all of those, who have not registered their restaurant under GST, I would recommend you to do so. You must have a valid pan card and the most important of all is the FSSAI certificate.

Then what will be the charges for delivery boys? Now, look if you already have your own fleet of delivery business, then well and good. And if you don’t have that, then you can also hire them from Zomato.

Yes. “You can use your and Zomato’s delivery fleet simultaneously”. So, you can use both the delivery option. Both the options are always open for you. (Interesting, right?)

Then, the other question is what is the online average order value for Zomato?

Well, friends, the average amount is 250 rupees. Now, it basically depends on the customer, if the customer is very impressed with your taste, then they might eventually come back with higher-order value.

So, these were a few frequently asked questions that are important for you to understand.

Now, as I said earlier, if you want to register your restaurant on Zomato, you just have to click on this button.

As soon as you click to register, a login window will pop up. So, first of all you have to log in here. I am going to log in, in front of you only. (Pay attention to the screen)

Well, friends, the process is very simple. You just have to create your page, upload and verify the documents, then activate the delivery service, then you have to upload your entire menu, upload the bank details, and lastly, complete the partner app training.

Zomato will give you training on how to use the app and how can you reply whenever you receive an order?

Now, when you click on register, two forms will open in front of you. The first form will help you to “create your restaurant page”.

In this form, you have to add the “restaurant information, restaurant type, and timings and lastly upload images” of your restaurant and food.

Then the next form is to “register for online ordering”.

Once again, you have to add your restaurant information here along with the timing and the menu. Then secondly, you have to upload all your documents like Pan, GST, FSSAI, and your bank account details. And lastly, you have to fill out the partner contract.

All the details and rules are mentioned in the contract. The commission keeps changing from time to time. So please pay attention and keep checking the website regularly.

Okay, friends. So, one is “create your restaurant page” where you will have to provide all the details of the restaurant in order to create your page. So, basically, you have to add restaurant information, restaurant type, and timings and upload high-definition images.

Then, in the second process, you will get to know how you can upload all the legal documents.

So, first of all, a Pan card is mandatory. Hence you have to upload it. On the topmost section of this page, you will see a note that says “A mistake in this section can lead to delays in the onboarding process. Please follow all instructions very carefully”.

So, you have to be very careful while filling up all the details and uploading the documents here. Otherwise, you might have to face a lot of problems while registering. The main problem would be that your registration might get delayed and in the worst-case scenario, your registration might get disapproval and you might have to start all over again.

So, please just pay full attention while filling out this section of your form.

Then, friends, you have to fill up the GST information. The GST calculation can be related to your restaurant and any food items that you are selling.

So, you have to provide all the GST information according to the guideline. Then, you have to tell them if your restaurant is GST registered or not?

Then, lastly, you have to upload your GST certificate, and if you do not have a GST certificate, but you have already applied for it, then you can also provide the application number here.

Then you have to provide your bank details obviously because when a customer makes a payment for their order, it should come into your bank account.

So, carefully, fill out all the details here and verify your account details.

And after you have completed this last step, you will finally see your restaurant page that will look something like this.

Here, I have taken an example of domino’s for you. You will see the exact same page of your restaurant as well.

So, whenever any user searches for queries like food near me or restaurants near me, or if they search by a particular food, they will be able to see your restaurant and by clicking on your restaurant they will land on this page in Zomato.

Yes, they can search your restaurant on Zomato and order online. and you can serve and deliver your food from your home or your restaurant.

By doing so, you will get easily connected with the e-commerce industry.

Yes, friends. E-commerce. Online food delivery is included in E-commerce.
