Hello everyone. Welcome once again to this special training program of Learn Vern, where we are learning “How to sell effectively on E-Commerce?”
Now it’s time to have a look at “how to upload the catalogue?”
What is the meaning of upload? Well, it basically means to add all the information or data that you have collected including the keyword research, the competitor research, or the content that you have created. The question is after all how to upload this? okay.
As you already know there are many platforms and all the platforms will have different criteria. So here I will show you an example of “amazon”. Now when you go to amazon’s website, they have their own unique pattern and they have a different pattern to feed the data as well.
Now when you go to amazon’s website and check the criteria to feed the data, you will have to follow these conditions. For “title”, it should be “200 characters max, capitalize the first letter of every word”. So here they have shown the rules and limitations for each description that you have to follow. There is a different limit for “images”. Then for “variation” also, there is a rule. How many “bullet points” can you keep? What “featured offer” can you display? What are the “other offers” that you can display? Then lastly what is the limit for “description”?
So basically, each website and platform have their own rules and limitations. What you have to do is whenever you go to any particular website or platform, just read all the rules and regulations there. We will have a thorough look at this practically in our next module. So don’t worry about that at all. But here we are just getting an idea of this to understand how to upload the product catalogue nicely.
At this point, we have already collected all the data. I already described this in our previous session the title, content, images, variations etcetera are included in the content itself and as you all adding proper content for our product is very important.

So, what content should be added? What are the rules and policies? Are we violating any rules of that particular platform or website? So basically, we should check and keep all this in mind before uploading.
After you are done checking all the things, let me tell you that you can upload the catalogue or brochure by 2 methods. The first method is “manually”. Manually means, suppose let’s say you have fewer products, then this is the best method but when you have a larger amount of products, you will need a lot of time to do it manually. Because manually entering means you have to manually add an image for each product, then add the name manually, followed by the title, description, expiry date of the product, bulk quantity etcetera. Well, what I mean to say is, you will have to add each and every detail manually no matter how small the detail is but you have to add it manually for each product where you are describing each and every detail of the product on any particular platform or website. So basically, when you add the product information, you have to follow the structured format. So, the first method is “manually” which will consume a lot of time if you have more products.
But the second method is quite easier. Why? Because here you have to create the data once in the “CSV” file. you can convert your excel file into a CSV file very easily. CSV means comma-separated value. You can easily get a template of a CSV file on any particular platform. Just download the template and fill up all the information that is asked and after feeding the information when you click on the bulk option and “Add file”, all the data that you have entered in bulk, already added to the template will be uploaded automatically. Well yes, friends. You can upload multiple products at the same time in just a single click. So, these were the 2 methods. One is manual and the other one is bulk. Okay. (Are you getting it?)
There is one more method but it is a bit advanced which includes integration. No need to dive into this. Rather just understand the other 2 methods which are more than enough. So once again, one is manual and the second one is bulk.
Now, when you are using the bulk method, you will see an excel file like this. Have a look, you can see an example of an excel file on your screen which includes the ID, name, and other descriptions column-wise. What is the weight? What are the attributes? What is the size? So, each and every detail is mentioned here, friends.

As you will create this file, well this is a template that is available on almost each and every platform. If you are unable to find a template and want to create your own website, you can find the template online as well. Just go there and download it. As soon as you download it, try filling up as much product information as you can.
Try to include as much information as possible. Include all the things that I already described in our previous session like images, content etcetera. I also explained how you can analyze your competitor? Along with this I also explained how to analyze keywords and do keyword research. By doing all this what will you understand?
You will be able to feed data on a particular website and when you succeed in managing and feeding the data and have this excel file, then trust me you are ready. Yes, you are almost ready. You are almost ready for practical exposure.
If you have this excel file or at least if you have collected complete data for all the products which include the smallest product details, description etcetera. So, when you have the whole data of a product, it means you are ready. Well, yes, you are ready to check this out practically.
In the next module, we will choose a platform and enter all the data practically and with me, you will also do it practically and learn how to enter the product details step by step.
If you have any queries or comments, click the discussion button below the video and post there. This way, you will be able to connect to fellow learners and discuss the course. Also, Our Team will try to solve your query.
So, see you soon with the next topic in our next session.
Happy learning. See you right there.
