We are doing this practice on amazon seller central.

Here we will see how to make the product live on any e-commerce platform.

Friends before starting this, I want to ask you certain questions.

Do you have a product ID?

Yes.

And what if you don't have a product ID ?

What is product ID?

Let’s have a look at that also.

See whenever we download excel files from any e-commerce platform, that e-commerce platform asks for a product ID.

Identification number of the product which you will sell.

Now what actually a product ID is?

Where should the product ID be mentioned?

So friends, whenever we update the excel file or if we're going for manual updation of the product, we need to enter the product ID on that platform.

Now let’s see what product ID is.

So my friend's product ID is nothing but G-T-I-N.

Yes GTIN, UPC, EAN, JAN or ISBN.

Product ID is one of the mandatory fields to be entered while creating a new product listing on amazon dot in.

These are kind of barcodes.

There is a unique identification number on the outer side, which you need to enter while entering it to any e-commerce platform. Ok?

Now,  where will we register the product ID?

If you are out of India, you need to check the website of that country for product ID registration.

And that solution is, Imagine you don't want to register your product ID, If I don't want to register my product ID Because I don't have that much sale i.e. in crores And I have just started my ECommerce journey,  So in such cases We have GTIN exemption.

 Yes  friends,  GTIN examination.

Now where to apply or register for a GTIN exemption?

Let's see this practically.

So friends I have come to Amazon seller Central.

 And as I will enter my Amazon seller Central account, I've got a congratulations message and a message about my GST number being correct.

If you want to pay GST or you must have done GST registration, You need to register that phone number over here.

Without that you cannot move ahead.

So my GST is approved.

According to the terms and conditions,  My PAN number, GST number, Digital signature,  product tax code, Everything is approved.

My Amazon seller central account is perfect.

I need to go to amazon seller central.

As you enter this,  you will find a home tab where everything is nicely written.

You need to go on the left hand side.

Click here.

Here you will find “catalogue”.

Go to “add products”.

We saw how we can download excel files and upload, in the session of creation and updation.

Ok so suppose here you don't have to register product ID because you don’t have that much of a budget.

You have just started your ecommerce journey.

So what do you need to do in such cases?

Scroll down.

As you will scroll down, On the left hand side, you will find a link GTIN exemption.

From there you need to go on “learn more”.

Click on that.

As you click on that, a landing page will open up.

Here it is written “how to list products that do not have a product ID”.

If you don't have a product ID, no worries.

Here you have been told step by step.

Kindly read all this information.

As you will complete reading this information, you will find “request approval” on the lower side.

Yes, request approval.

And status is 48 hours, which means generally this gets approved within 48 hours.

So I am going to click “request approval” in front of you.

As you will click this button, the following screen appears.

“Apply for GTIN exemption”.

See if you don't have any brand registered or if you don’t have any registration with the brand or if your own brand is not registered, then what you need to do?

You just need to type “generic”.

Yes you need to type “generic”.

You only need to type this much and select the product category.

Select whatever is your product category.

The example that i took, its category is “home and kitchen”.

So I have typed here “generic” for home and kitchen.

My brand is generic.

And then I will click on “check for eligibility”.

This will be approved immediately.

Why?

Because generic is already approved.

It's an approved brand.

If you wish to register for some other brand then first you need to visit “brand registration” on amazon.

Which you must have done through govt authority.

If you have a trademark available for your brand then you need to register your brand on the brand registration portal of amazon.

After that you can apply here.

Quoting that, with this brand i want to approve GTIN exemption.

Thus, you can enter any product within approximately 30 minutes.

 So friends, this was practical exposure about how to go for GTIN exemption.

Here itself if you will notice, you will find a link to add products.

“Add a product”.

From here itself I am going towards adding products.

As you will click on “add a product” and if you don’t want to download or upload any excel file, then there’s a second way here.

I need to click here on “I’m adding a product not sold on amazon”....

As you will enter this, you need to fill up all of this form.

Very First is the category.

Category of your product.

Here I am selecting the category of my product i.e. home and kitchen.

 The craft materials… then… scrapbooking then… die cutting and then… replacement blades, yes replacement blades.

So i am selecting this, once i select this, we need to manually enter it.

We need to fill up all the details.

Here itself, as you will type “generic” stating that you don’t need GTIN.

You need an exemption.

Then See here the mandatory field is converted to non mandatory.

Fields having Asterisk are mandatory fields.

Earlier This product was a mandatory field.

You need to leave this blank.
