effectively on E-Commerce?”
Friends, we have already seen how you can make your product live on Amazon. “How to make the product live on different platforms”. In which we saw there are many platforms. We took the example of the online marketplace, in which Amazon is number 1.
As we see on the left-hand side there are other platforms such as self-hosted and hosted. In hosted, the best number one platform is Shopify. Friends, self-hosting is a bit difficult, in which it requires you to have a knowledge of IT.
But when you go for the hosted platform, you aren't required to have a knowledge of IT. IT knowledge means, how to purchase the domain and from where hosting is done? What is the hosting IP address? What are cookies? What are Plugins? What is HTML Language? These are all important things to know and learn.
But when you go in hosted, i.e., Shopify. All you have to know in Shopify is that you should have a domain. This is a platform where you can get all the features, which are not available in self-hosted.
In hosted, all these features are available and you can make a wonderful website.
So, what is Shopify? Well, Shopify is a store that gives you the feasibility of building an e-commerce store of your own.
Yes, an e-commerce platform.
So, let’s try to understand it practically. Let’s see it practically.
Well, friends, we are about to see practically, you have to go to Shopify dot in website. Then scrolling down, you can see all the information below, why it is necessary and what are the features.
All the features that you see here are impeccable and Indian users who have an e-commerce platform, are mostly making their site via Shopify, woo commerce, or WordPress.
Most of the work is being done in Shopify only.
So, let’s understand it from the start. Well, if you want to make a store in Shopify. You have to go on “start free trial”, as you can see this button, you can click it. As you click it, you can see on the screen that the ‘14 days trial’ log-in form is shown, the registration form.
Now, as soon as you register, you can create your store. Well, friends, let’s have a look at this too. So, I am filling up all the details here.

So, look friends, see that I have entered all the details here such as email id, what is the password? And my store name. Store name means the name of your store.
For example, I have taken the name printman industries dot myshopify dot com. Now, this is myshopify.com, this domain is a free domain that is given to us, and we change the domain later.
Domain means your own business, the business that is running with your name, and you purchase that domain from any website such as GoDaddy, BIGROCK, as you register that name, you have to specify the domain here.
Not right now, but when we will be exploring, then we will be able to see where to input the domains. So, for now, we have got this free domain, as you fill all this, you have to click on the create store button…
And this screen is opened after clicking on the store creation button, you can see this screen is opened. You have to insert more information here, for example, “are you already selling?” So, if you are selling already or not. So, I am clicking on “I am selling, just not online”.
Then, friends, there is much more information required.
So, “in addition to your Shopify store, where else would you like to sell online?” The other platforms that you would like to sell your products on, so I am clicking on Facebook, Google, because in the upcoming time, we will sell on Google and Facebook further, obviously. So, I will go with Facebook and Google in this question.
Then the second question is “How do you want to sell?” I have selected online for now.
Then “what is your current revenue?” I have not decided on any revenue. I don’t have any revenue as I have just started.
After that, “Which industry will you be operating in?” So, as our industry is not mentioned here, I am clicking on others.
Then I am clicking on the “next” button…
After that, some other information is being asked to me. For example, Which country do you belong to? What is your address? What is your name?
So, I am filling it up in front of you.

So, look friends, I have filled up all this information and after this, I am clicking on Enter my store button. As I click on this, I will be inside my store. (Are you getting it?)
Now, look friends, we are inside our store. In this way, we have to create a store. As you create your store, you can come here, where we have to input much more information. Because it has just started and when you come here for the first time, as Shopify is a business, they want you to select a plan. Okay.
So, I am taking you to “select plan”, as you enter “select plan”, there will be different plans. The plan that you like or the feature that you like, you can proceed with that plan.
Plans are good because more features are available in the paid version. If you want to go for free, then for 14 days you can keep this store for free. As the 14 days period is over, then after this store is deleted automatically.
So, always choose a plan and proceed and these are very affordable plans. You can see recent plans too on Shopify dot in website. So, this is it, for now, we have created a store.
Now, we will understand what “Creating and Updating Product is?”
“Add your first product”.
See friends, we had to have all the information that needed to be filled up, so the first step was to create a store. So, you have understood shop creation in Shopify.
So, now let’s understand “how to create a product in shopify” in this module.
Let’s try to grasp it practically. (Repeat)
So now I am driving us back to this screen, as you can see friends, when you scroll down, it is written “Add your first product”, as you click on this button, it opens a form that you have to fill up product information, for example, “title, description, images, what is its price, how are you going to sell”, there are different things.
So, let’s enter them one by one.

Well, friends, we have entered all the details, like what is the title? What is a description? You can modify the description, and make it bold or italic, all the options are available here.
Then in the media, we have inserted images, and then in pricing that they are asking, we have entered pricing.
Then SKU is a Stock Keeping Unit, only you can provide and enter it by yourself. I have entered “PMCR1” which is related to print man industry cutting rules 1.
Then, in “shipping”, “this is a physical product”, it is asked what is the weight of the product. So, I have entered it as 5 kg.
Then, what is “customs information?” Is it from India or from which country? Then here, the HSN number or code that we entered on Amazon. HSN code is mandatory for all these platforms as you are selling online.
So, you have to find the HSN code, you can get it as per your industry category, search it and copy that code here in the box. (Clear?)
As we enter all the information, you can see that in the search engine, it will be shown like this. The headline is going to be seen like this, the URL will be visible like this, the description will be showcased like this, and more information is available on the right side.
What is the “status of the product?” If you want to keep it active or draft it. Then “Sales Channels and Apps”, so how do you want to sell and if you have a sales channel then you can add it like it is the online store like as we told you last time about facebook and google.
As I mentioned previously, when you create a store, they ask the same question.
Then in “organization”. Who is the “vendor?” Who is the manufacturer? I have kept it as a printman industry.
Then, what is the “product type?” Different categories are available here, you have to select the relevant category then after there are collections, in which the home page is already given.
We will understand this more when we will go into more depth in this course, in this session. For now, understand that the home page is suitable.
That we have to keep this product on the front page.
Then, what are “tags?” Tags mean keywords. I have kept dye cutting as a keyword…
What will be the “theme” of the online store? We are going to understand themes in this session. For now, I have selected the default theme.
As you fill up all these details, you have to click on the “Save” button. As you click on the “Save” button, then you will get a message, ‘Congratulations! You have added your first product.’ So, you just added a product. (Understood the process?)
You can see this product in the upcoming module, if you want to see it now, you can have a look. The product that you have added now and how it will be showcased to the world.
So, if you want to see a preview then go on the right-hand side, in “more options” as you will click on the “Preview option”, a new tab will be opened in which the product that you have uploaded will be seen.
So, friends in this way, we have added a product like this and it is being showcased to the world.
