Many people might be thinking, ‘Can we do our business products photoshoot by ourselves? Because I don’t have a proper photographer, neither do I have a proper android phone nor do I have a proper camera person.’
Look friends, such questions might arise in your mind if you can do a photoshoot of your product or not.
You need a proper strategy, proper planning through which if you follow those steps properly, you can do a proper photoshoot of your product.
That is what we are going to learn in this session.
Let’s start this session.
Before starting the session, I’d like to ask you a question, ‘Have you searched for a mobile recently on Google?’
If you haven’t searched yet, do it right away.
If you have searched mobiles anytime on google & tapped on image, you will be able to see this screen, the one you are seeing right now, yes!
If you look carefully, on the left hand side, right hand side & bottom of that image.
At the bottom of the image, you will see a link, its description along with the image.
If you click on any image, you will go to a website, yes.
Every image is linked to some or other website, okay?
And whatever target audience means the customers are, will surely search on google.
Yes! They will definitely search about the product on google.
Imagine your product to be visible here, wouldn’t it be beneficial?
It will be beneficial for sure!
I’d like to give you one more example.
Recently on social media, you must have seen at least 1 ad for Zomato, Flipkart, Alibaba and many other E-Commerce sites.
You must have observed that in those ads, the focus is more on the image.
See the images on the left hand side, center & right hand side, I know you surely would have seen these images in E-Commerce.
Whenever you go to an E-Commerce or a social media site, you would have noticed that there is at least 1 Flipkart ad, 1 Amazon ad, Alibaba, Zomato, and many more.
All of these mainly focus on its product photos.
Yes! On the product’s photos.
So can we also do product photoshoots to this level?
I’d like to tell you, you definitely can!
That is why we have made this training program.
I am going to give you all the details, so I request you to kindly take a pen & paper as you are going to have a really good time on this journey.

What will be the first thing?
What will be the very first step?
If you want to plan your product photoshoot or launch it, first comes planning.
Yes! Planning.
Get inspired with great product photography.
See, many people before you might have worked on that product or if your product is unique, then you are the first person who is going to learn about this product & share it with the world.
So let’s start with planning.
What is planning?
We have to do planning related to what?
We have to plan how to reflect this product & how can I decorate it & put it in front of people so that it can attract people to my website.
Yes! It should attract people to our website, because if they won’t come to our website, then how will you earn?
Photo. What is a photo?
Like I said in the introduction, whatever is visible, sells.
Yes! Whatever is visible, sells.
If you haven’t represented your product in a proper way to the customers, as to how it looks in reality, if you haven’t shown how it actually looks, then what will happen?
You will lose that customer.
Yes! You will no longer have the customer, yes!
That is why in this strategic training program, we are not only teaching you how to join E-Commerce, we are also teaching you how to sell effectively, how you can grow your business successfully.
Yes! How will you grow it? You will be able to grow it when you sell it.
What are the tricks for selling?
The first trick is to attract the customer.

Through photos, videos, gifs, or through any media.
But for that you need to do proper planning.

Then you plan through video, because it might happen sometime.
For example - take the Apparel sector.
It might look different in images & when it arrives, it would look different.
Its photoshoot is done plus its video shoot is also done.
In the video, a model would be doing a ramp walk so that we can portray the product properly to our target audience.

So for that, we will have to do planning whether I should show my product through image or video.
First of all, we will need to do the planning.
So there are some things which will inspire you regarding your competitor or through social media.
Let’s see an example of instagram, facebook, pinterest.
Firstly, search on these social media sites if anybody has done a photoshoot before this.
And if they have done it, how have they done it, okay?
I'd like to give you some examples.
First example is Zomato.
If you belong to a food industry, go to Zomato’s website & search your competitors.
Yes! Search your competitors, look at how they have posted their
Images.
See in this image, they haven’t hidden the background image nor kept it in the white background.
They have kept it just the way it is, see.
Then another example, that is Amazon.
In Amazon, you can see that the background is white, grey & sometimes black also; it depends on the product.
The background, light & how to portray it, depends on the product.
How to decorate it so that the customer is attracted towards our product & business, okay?
Suppose we take one more example of flipkart.
See, here too the image is shown from different angles.
You can see that the laptop’s front angle, back angle, left, right, it has been shown from all the angles.
Will I need to show my product in this way?
Then you will need to plan.
Yes! You will need to do planning.
Let’s see one more example of Alibaba.
Alibaba has mobile clicked natural photos, where there is no editing, nor have they been decorated.
Did you see that the photo has been taken through a mobile?
So Alibaba deals in a natural way.
It doesn’t decorate that much & prefers a natural way.
It depends on you whether you want to promote your product in a natural manner or by editing so that people are automatically attracted, okay?
Let’s take one more example of IndiaMart.
Yes! You can see the chair’s example here, where the background is white & they have explained the chair at a single angle.
IndiaMart is a B2B example, which I’ve already told you.
Then we will come to planning.
Planning what?
We saw planning right now (not needed)
Planning means you will have to choose whether your product will look good in a black background, white background or natural way.
Simple, detailed, light colour, bright colour or any colour in the background, in which light & angle does it look good, we will need to plan it beforehand.
We will have to choose in which style we will need to demonstrate our product in front of our customers.
Yes! We have to show & gain the customer’s confidence in every way so that they buy the product, okay?

It should push them towards buying the product or at least towards wanting to know where this product is, on which website is it available, at what price it is.
Through 1 product image, you are bringing lakhs of people to your website.
If you are buying lakhs of people to your website, from them, at least 1000 people will buy 10 is to 1 ratio, yes or no?
That’s why planning matters the most.
If you plan, if you match with the colour combination of the platform, suppose look at flipkart, it is mostly in blue colour.
And if you have kept the background in blue colour, then what will happen?
It will look a bit weird on that platform, that is why you will have to keep the platform in mind.
You will need to plan your photoshoot according to your chosen platform’s colour combination.
Zomato has red colour, Amazon has a different colour, Ola, Alibaba, Shopify & however many E-Commerce platforms are there, you will need to understand the colour patterns of each & then plan your product photoshoot.
And the next step is, ‘Create a Shot List’.
Not Short List, Shot List!
Whenever you actually go for a product photoshoot, what main points do you have to consider for a product shot list?
First point should be -
‘Which products are in the shot’.
Which products do you actually want in the shot?
You will need to understand that you want to keep 1 product, 2 products, 3 products, or combinations.
‘What type of a shot it is.’
You might be talking about coffee, laptop, or any other product.
You will need to understand which kind of shot it is.
What should be the camera angle?
You can take the camera angle from top to bottom, bottom to right, bottom to left, any angle at all.
If you are going in any angle, you will need to plan first of all.
Then important style & setting action.
It can be possible that you are shooting in the sunlight, you are using overhead light, you are switching it on and off or you are requiring more light.
Like I am shooting this video right now, I have used a lot of lights so that I am properly visible.
And the screen is also getting recorded along the way.
So you have to keep the lighting in mind also.
‘Important objects & props to include.’
It can be possible that you put a prop with the product so it reflects your product perfectly.
And I guarantee that if you have done a proper photoshoot of the product, if you have shown your product properly in front of the customers, then I guarantee that you will grab your customer perfectly.
Yes! If you have grabbed their eye attention perfectly, if you have won their hearts within a fraction of a second with your product, then they will come to your website & definitely buy it.
Yes! This is the strength of the product photoshoot.
Because in the online world, whatever is visible, sells.
