Set up Apache such that PHP pages are served from a user directory:
Edit the PHP configuration file. sudo gedit /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/php5.conf.
Save changes, and exit emacs. control-x, control-s.
Restart Apache, and you are done. sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart.
AMP (Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Perl/Python) are commonly used in the PHP web environment. PHP not only allows you to construct HTML pages on the fly, but it's also completely hidden from your website's users. When people look at the source of your code, the only thing they see is the HTML output.

Excellent for Bigners.
