WAN Device

43.6k

  • Example of a WAN (Wide Area Network)
  • The Internet is a Wide Area Network (WAN).
  • A WAN is a network of bank cash machines.
  • A LAN is the most common type of school network.
  • LANs are frequently linked to WANs; for example, a school network may be linked to the Internet.
  • The Internet, leased lines, and satellite links can all be used to connect WANs.

Switched WAN and Point-to-Point WAN are the two forms of WAN. Designing and maintaining a WAN is tough. A WAN's fault tolerance is lower than that of a MAN, and the network is more congested. PSTN or Satellite Link is a WAN communication medium.

A router connects LANs and WAN access interface ports to the service provider network and provides internetworking between them. Serial connections or other WAN interfaces are examples of these interfaces.

With a WAN, a company can have more control over their sensitive data. They can also have the flexibility to access their data from anywhere, which is better for those who are constantly on the go. The benefits of a WAN device are that they allow an organization to have more control over their sensitive data. They can also have the flexibility to access their data from anywhere, which is better for those who are constantly on the go.

A wide area network (WAN) is a data network that spans a large geographical area and is typically used to connect computers. Cities, states, and even countries can use WANs to connect.
