FAQs

Dynamic NAT isn't just a catch phrase. It's a service that allows you to share your internet connection with other devices on the same network. This allows you to quickly and easily share an internet connection with your smart TV, gaming console, or kids' tablet without having to rent or purchase additional hardware or software.

Dynamic network address translation allows you to automatically map inside local and global addresses, whereas static NAT is a constant mapping between inside local and worldwide addresses (which are usually public IP addresses). For translation, dynamic NAT uses a group or pool of public IPv4 addresses.

Dynamic NAT is a feature in the Cisco IOS that allows you to have multiple IP addresses and route tables at the same time. There are some risk factors associated with Dynamic NAT. One of them is packet loss as packets are being fragmented across different networks. This can cause network instability as traffic is not delivered to specific destinations and it can also affect user performance and Internet connectivity.

PAT (Port Address Translation) - Port Address Translation (PAT) is a sort of dynamic NAT that uses a technology called Port Address Translation to convert numerous private IP addresses to a single public IP address.
