OSPFv2 stands for Open Shortest Path First version 2. SPFv2 is the IPv4's OSPF version In OSPFv2, many OSPF instances per interface are not supported, whereas in OSPFv3, many OSPF instances per interface are supported.

Configuring OSPFv2 provides all the benefits of Cisco’s routing protocol, including fast convergence, load balancing, and scalability.

A router ID can be manually set or selected automatically by the router: To maintain OSPF stability, it is advised that you manually configure a router ID. If no loopback interface is enabled, the router assigns its router ID to the largest IP address among the other interface addresses.

OSPFv2 is a routing protocol and it can be used to provide routing and redundancy in your network. OSPFv2 is also a link-state routing protocol and is considered to be one of the most popular ones.

OSPFv2 is a routing protocol, not a routing protocol. It's an internetwork's link-state routing protocol. It communicates with other OSPFv2 speaking routers about the network's topology. It's an open standard protocol that was created in the late 1980s but didn't get widespread use until the early 1990s.
