Connect your computer and modem to your router. Connect your modem to the WAN/WLAN/Internet port on your router with Ethernet cables, and your computer to the "1", "2", "3", or "4" port on the router with Ethernet cables. To begin, open a web browser.
Almost all home routers have a Web interface that can be used to set up and control them. You will need to connect to the router through Ethernet or Wi-Fi to use this. To connect through Wi-Fi, you'll need to know the router's SSID, which should be included in the paperwork.
Connect to your network wirelessly, or via ethernet.
Find your router configuration page.
Log in with the username and password.
Find the Wireless Settings page.
Set the new channel, usually with a dropdown menu.
Your router will now reboot.
Troubleshooting.
Type ipconfig in the command prompt and press Enter to run the command. Scroll through the information until you see a setting for Default Gateway under Ethernet adapter or Wireless LAN adapter. That's your router, and the number next to it is your router's IP address.
Specifies the correct IP addresses and route settings, etc. Host configuration: Sets up a network connection on a host computer/laptop by logging the default network settings, such as IP addressing, proxy, network name and ID/password, to enable network connection and communication.
