Introduction. In a table, the GridView control displays the values of a data source. Each row represents a record, and each column represents a field.
There are different types of UI Grid Views, but the most common ones are the horizontal and vertical grid.
The horizontal grid is made up of rows and columns that you can scroll through horizontally.
The vertical grid is made up of rows and columns that you can scroll through vertically.
The GridView is a list view that provides a more flexible layout than the standard ListView. It is used to display data in two dimensions, one dimension for a row of data and the other dimension for a column of data.
A GridView is useful when you want to display more information about each item in the list. For example, if you have an app that consists of Instagram posts, then you would use a GridView because it would allow you to see more information about each post. The same goes for apps that allow users to add items into their shopping cart or wish list.
There are a variety of ways to add rows and columns to your grid view. Some of the methods include:
Adding rows and columns by dragging the divider between two cells
Adding rows and columns by clicking on the divider between two cells
Adding rows and columns by clicking on a cell, then dragging it to the right or left
Pressing Ctrl+click on a cell, then dragging it to the right or left
Using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Left arrow key, then Right arrow key
When you create a grid view, it's common to see the same type of content repeated in each row. You can customize the layout of your grid view dynamically on the go by adding and removing columns.
To remove a column, click on the icon next to the column name and select 'Remove Column'. To add a column, click on the icon next to the column name and select 'Add Column'. The default width for columns is 100px.
