Adapterviews, Action bar, and Toolbar in Android

AdapterViews in Android

AdapterView is a ViewGroup in Android which displays items loaded into an adapter. Here we learn about AdapterView in Android.

List View

Most of the Android application contains at least one list view which is one way of displaying a collection of items.

Using an adapter the list items are automatically inserted into the list that pulls content from an external source such as an array or database and then each item is converted into a view that's placed into the list.

Grid View

Android grid view shows items in a two-dimensional scrolling grid (rows and columns) and the grid items are not necessarily predetermined but are automatically inserted into the layout using a List Adapter.

Spinner

Spinner allows you to select an item from a dropdown menu. When you are using the Gmail application you would get a drop-down menu, you need to select an item from a dropdown menu.

Android Action Bar

Android action bar was introduced to maintain consistent navigation across the application.
