The sourcing plan should include:

  • The type of sources you are looking for:
  • How you will use these sources:
  • What kind of media do you want them to appear in:
  • The timing of when these sources will be used in the project:
  • How much time you have allotted for this search and finding process:
  • Who will be responsible for gathering these resources and how much time they have allotted for this process.

The most common type of sourcing plan is the one-time plan. This type of plan is used when a company needs to generate content for a specific topic or niche and the company trusts the writer to complete it within a specific time frame. Another type of sourcing plan is recurring or on-going programs. This type of plan is used when companies want to work with a writer on an ongoing basis and they need content created on a regular basis.

A sourcing plan for content writing should include:

  • What type of content do you want to write
  • What topics are you interested in writing on
  • What are your strengths, weaknesses, and interests
