Sourcing Decisions

Sourcing's purpose is to search and identify candidates who fit a specified profile. It's more than merely searching the CV database for a certain résumé or looking through the applications received in response to a job posting. That is what most recruiters do.

Policies and procedures are typically developed by top-down approach. This means that there is a single person or a team of people who have the complete picture of the company's needs and wants. They take into account all aspects like size, type, industry, location etc.

The most reliable strategy to manage your company's talent needs is to build a pipeline of candidates. You can use sourcing to connect with possible individuals even before a need develops. When you consider that hiring a new employee can take anywhere from a week to several months, this is extremely useful.
