First, open up Microsoft Word and spell-check the document. To do so, click on the "Spelling" tab at the top of the screen. Then click on "Check to spell" and then "Run Spell Check." You can also press Ctrl+F7 or use shortcut keys Ctrl+Shift+F7 to run a spell check or go to File, Options, Spelling, and Grammar, Check to spell automatically. Spelling Error Messages: When there are spelling errors in your document, you'll see error messages like these below the gray text box: "your" should read you're, "I'm" should read I'm, "it's" should read its,"

It checks your spelling and grammar as you type, and gives you a list of acceptable and unacceptable words with a percentage of correct. A small-sized tool designed to help you check your spelling and grammar as you type, right in your MSword. Grammar checker is a great addition to MS word as it can also help you organize your work and make sure that errors are corrected as soon as possible. On the Word menu, click Preferences > Spelling & Grammar. In the Spelling & Grammar dialog box, under Spelling, check or clear the Check spelling as you type the box.
