Bullets and numbering help make content more digestible and easier to understand. When writing a document, there are several variations on how to number different sections. Some people prefer using bullets while others prefer numbering them. In most cases, there is a hierarchy of sorts. A bullet point with a number is not necessarily the most effective way to do that. In fact, some companies prefer to use numbered lists with bullets for variety and context. A bullet point is a set of numbered formatting characters used in the body of a paragraph or list. The use of bullets is especially useful in longer body texts when the content exceeds the space available in the text. While Numbering in MS Word is a very common writing task. It is done to best represent the structure of a document and create a hierarchy of content.

They should be changed to be more efficient and relevant.If you are writing a document for your clients or bosses, it's important that you give them a brief introduction on your project or topic before they dive into your content. That way they can get a picture of what you're going to do for them and the time line it takes.These bullet points should be short and not intimidating for your audience. You can use templates from templates provided by Microsoft to get started with creating standard bullet points that will help them out when they read through your entire document before making their decision

Format Number in Ms Word is the solution for you. Select the text or numbered list you want to change. On the Home tab, under the Paragraph, click the arrow next to Numbered List. To change the style, click the down arrow next to Number style and choose number or letter.
