The lasso tool allows you to draw a selection line freehand by clicking down and dragging. A variety of lasso tools are available in many programmes for making choices.
Here's how to make a straight line:
On the toolbar, select the Line tool (). (or press the L key). The cursor is replaced by a pencil.
Set the starting point of your line by clicking.
To set the line's end point, click.
(Optional) Type a value and hit Enter (Microsoft Windows) or Return (Mac OS X) to make your line a particular length (macOS).
