The distance between two points is measured in a linear dimension. The Linear Dimension tool () can be found on the Dimensions menu of the default toolbar or by selecting Tools > Dimensions > Linear from the menu bar.
You can use the Dimension tool to measure and visualise the distance between two locations in your layout. It also allows you to adjust the size of an object or establish a particular distance between them. The utility is offered in two different views: 2D Plan and 2D Elevation.
