You may use real-world cameras in your SketchUp Pro 8 models with the Advanced Camera Tools plugin. The ACTs let you to change variables like Focal Length, Aspect Ratio, and Image Width with precision, allowing you to precisely evaluate genuine camera views immediately inside SketchUp.

To zoom the lens in and out, hold the Ctrl key (Microsoft Windows) or the Option key (Mac OS X) while pressing the up and down arrow keys. To zoom the camera in and out, hold the Ctrl key (Microsoft Windows) or the Option key (Mac OS X) and the left mouse button while moving the mouse forward or backward.

  • Here's how you do it:
  • Place your pointer over the camera model to see it in action.
  • Select Edit Camera from the context menu. The dialogue window for Camera Properties displays.
  • Make any necessary changes to the properties. Details regarding your selections can be found in the following list.
  • Click the OK button.

The model's camera properties may be found in the lower-left corner. There's also a tab with the camera's name on it. In camera mode, you can view through the camera and adjust camera properties, among other things.

Follow these procedures to position the camera at a certain location:

  • Select the Camera Positioning tool ( ).
  • When you click a point in your model, SketchUp positions the camera's point of view at 5' 6" immediately above it.
  • Enter a new value and click Enter if you wish to modify the eye height taller or shorter.
