SketchUp, formerly known as Google Sketchup, is a 3D modelling computer tool used by designers in a variety of fields, including architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, and film and video game design.
Without a degree in architecture, you can work as an architectural visualizer or software specialist. However, gaining software experience to begin with would be quite tough. Because you require a licence in architecture, there is a limit you will reach (job position, salary, etc.)
Many creative people, including some architects, utilise SketchUp. However, because it is a professional industry software, obtaining more intricate modelling or sketches out of it can be difficult. It also doesn't work with AutoCAD and doesn't come with House Wizard.
Both SketchUp and Revit are commonly used in the interior design profession, and each has advantages and disadvantages. SketchUp is generally preferred by individuals who use it because it is considerably easier to learn and far less expensive to purchase.
