You may generate hand-drawn lines with SketchUp's Freehand tool (), such as the planter decorations shown in the figure. When you need to trace imported drawings, produce a 2D sketch, or adorn your model, the Freehand tool comes in handy.
You can use the orderly Line tool to draw straight lines in your LayOut document, or its freewheeling cousin, the Freehand tool, to make loopy swerving lines in any direction you please.
Many models begin with fundamental shapes. The form tools in SketchUp allow you to draw rectangles, circles, and polygons. The Getting Started toolbar, the Drawing toolbar, and the Large Tool Set toolbar all have these tools.
