In English, we usually use the form Subject-Verb-Object (S-V-O). An example is: Jemima kicks the ball.

A transitive verb has a direct object, which means it transmits action to another object. Something is being done to an object in these sentences.

An object in English grammar is a noun, a noun phrase, or a pronoun that is impacted by a verb's action. Objects provide complexity and texture to our language by allowing us to construct complicated phrases.

There are two different types of object: direct objects and indirect objects.
