The Anchor Point tool allows you to control the path's direction and curve. To see the anchor points of a path, use the Direct Selection tool on the toolbar and then click it. To choose a point, click it. Click the Anchor Point tool or press Shift + C to convert smooth anchor points to angled anchor points.

To add or delete points from the selection, hold down the Shift key while clicking, or drag over anchor points to select them. By clicking the path with the Pen tool selected, you can add points to it.
"Corner points" and "smooth points" are two types of anchor points that can be found on paths. "A path abruptly changes direction at a corner point."
Each path is made up of a set of anchor points connected by line segments, as previously stated. Control handles and control handle lines are present at each anchor point. The control handles are little squares on the path that allow you to adjust how tightly or loosely the curve bends at each one.
