Gradients In Illustrator

Gradient means merging of two or more color for shading. You can see gradient tool in the toolbar and also select from the window. Its shortcut key is G.

There are two types of the gradient: Linear & Circular. Linear gradient means in line gradient.  In this,    color fade in a line. Use a circular gradient type to blend colors from one point to another point in a circular pattern.

Click the Gradient tool and then click the object on the canvas. The Gradient Type buttons are displayed in the Control panel or Properties panel. With the object selected, click Linear or circular gradient to apply the linear/circular gradient on the object.

Here, an example is shown of logo designing using linear gradient and example of a sphere is also shown for a circular gradient. Watch the video for a better understanding of how to apply gradients in illustrator.
