How To Use Direct Selection Tool In Illustrator?

You will find the selection tool on the top left side of the toolbar. The selection tool is used for selecting an object, moving, rotating it. Its shortcut key is V.

It is also used for filling color in an object and making an outline around the object. Rulers are important to design perfectly anything. In AI, for zoom inside [CTRL,+] and for zoom outside [CTRL,-] key is used. For fit screen view, press [CTRL,0]. You will find these options in the View menu.

In the property section, there are two important tools present: Document setup & Preferences. For units, document setup is used, while preferences is responsible for keyboard increment. The direct selection tool is selected by pressing A. It is used for selecting anchor points.

Using a direct selection tool, you can move an anchor point or change an anchor's property to edit any object. As shown in the video, you can edit shape by changing the place of anchor points.
