Multitasking is the simultaneous execution of numerous programmes (sets of instructions) on a single computer. Multitasking is a technique for keeping all of a computer's resources busy for as long as feasible.
These include: switching off your phone during work hours, turning off notifications on your phone, taking short breaks every hour to give your brain a break, or even listening to soothing music while you work.
The first benefit of multitasking is that you can get more done in less time. This is because you won't be wasting time switching between tasks. You will also be able to complete a task faster because your brain will be working on multiple tasks at once.
