You can add layers in multiple way. From layers menu, click on new. Add layer from that. Also, its shortcut key is SHFT+CTRL+N. in the bottom right side, there’s 3rd option to add layer. You can add or remove background from layers. You can make group of layers. When you work on multilayers, group is very helpful. You can edit in grouped layers. Also, you can delete the group.

You will find an option of group from layers, in which you can directly cluster layers in a group. To duplicate a layer, press CTRL+J. You can delete a layer by pressing delete key. Copy merged option is useful to convert two different objects in a single layer. You can see in the video how to perform copy merged with example.

Paste special is a tool helps to paste object in different ways. Paste in place option keeps picture as it is. Paste into paste image in selected area. While paste outside pastes the image outside of the selected area.
