Image Mode and Adjustments in Photoshop

In this video, we will learn about image tab in detail.

In image tab, go to mode option. To change your image in black & white, select grayscale. Mostly, we have to work in RGB color mode. There are different types of modes available in image tab.

After that, you will see adjustments option under modes. To change brightness/contrast, first tool is used. Levels is a tool in Photoshop, which can move and stretch the brightness levels of an image histogram. It has the power to adjust brightness, contrast, and tonal range with complete black, complete white, and midtones in a histogram.

Same way, curves allow you to choose which portion of the tone scale you wish to adjust. By adjusting the point as shown, you can adjust tones. Exposure tool makes any image sharp. In short, to change color effects of any image, adjustments tool are used.

Further, vibrance option increases the intensity of the more muted colors. Hues/saturation is used to change color of any object of any image very easily. It is explained with the example of car. You can use hue, saturation and lightness to change the color. Also color balance can change the color of object. In that, you have to adjust cyan, magenta and yellow to red, green and blue accordingly.

To make an image or a portion, black and white, select it. Then apply black & white from adjustments tool. Also by adding and changing tint, you can make an attractive image.

Image mode is a more advanced mode in the Photoshop application. It allows users to work with deep pixels and information. The colors are increased on the screen and it provides better contrast between colors, so users can see them better.

Adjustment Layers in Photoshop are layers that allow you to apply specific effects or changes to your image without changing the original layer. These adjustments become editable, non-destructive layers that sit on top of the layer stack. They are great for isolating an area or effect without having to create a completely new document or edit the original image.

Adjustment layers are often used in post-processing and can be helpful in editing photos. Adjustment layers change the way the image on the layer is displayed; they can also modify other layers below them without altering their original content.

Adjustment layers can be used as a first step in a photo editing process or as a finishing touch.
