We want to believe that the character moved, not that the character was moved by someone. That requires animating a character who appears to be dealing with weight and balance through its own thoughts and efforts—not always easy.

Symmetry or evenness can readily establish balance, but they are neither effective nor desired. We call it twinning in animation, but we call it dull in entertainment circles.

The most essential of the 12 animation principles is the squash and stretch principle. It adds the sense of gravity, weight, mass, and flexibility to your animated characters and objects when used.

Finding a Healthy Food-Activity Balance Good diet and regular physical activity are essential components of a healthy lifestyle. If you need to increase or lose weight, consider adjusting your eating habits and increasing your physical activity.
