On the sculpting shelf, you'll find the Shape Editor. Maya will automatically scan the scene for any existing blend shape nodes and fill the window for you when you first open it. If there aren't any, simply select the head model and click Create Blend Shape.
To use automated settings, open the Shape Editor and click the Create Blend Shape button. In the Shape Editor, go to Create > Blend Shape Deformer. To begin, click the Options icon to specify options. To utilize automated settings, right-click in an empty area of the Shape Editor and select Add Blend Shape Deformer.
In 3D animation, blend shapes are used to interpolate between multiple sets of geometry. Blend shapes, for example, are frequently used in face animation to transition between expressions, such as when a character changes from a neutral look to a smile or a frown.
