Rigging a Quadruped Character in MAYA Part 1

Using the One-Click feature to create an automatic character rig:

  • Begin with a blank character mesh.
  • From the Rigging menu set, choose Skeleton > Quick Rig. The Quick Rig tool is launched.
    Select the "One-Click" option.
  • Choose a mesh.
  • Select Auto-Rig! A skeleton is built, then a HumanIK control rig is added.

  • Select Quick Rig Tool from the HumanIK window's Start Pane (Windows > Animation Editors > HumanIK).
  • Quick Rig may be found under Windows > Animation editors.
  • Select Skeleton > Quick Rig from the Rigging menu set.
  • Select Quick Rig from the Rigging shelf.
