All you have to do now is make sure the part you want to modify is on the layer you want to alter:
In Elements, open the layered image you want to alter.
Click the layer you want to alter in the Layers palette.
Make the desired adjustments to the active layer.
To save your work, select FileSave.
Layers can be added to a Layer State:
Click Edit on the layer state to which you want to add layers.
Click Add in the Edit Layer State dialogue box.
Select the layers you wish to add to Layer State in the Select Layers to Add to Layer State
dialogue box. Click the OK button.
Close the window.
To open Layer States Manager, do one of the following: Select the Layers panel from the Home tab. Drop-down menu for Layer States Manage the state of your layers.
To edit a layer state, select it and then click Edit.
Change the status of the selected layer: If you want to close the Layer States Manager, click OK and then Close.
Click the right-hand icon on your toolbar – or type 'layer' into the command line – to open the Layer Properties manager. The layer properties box will then appear.
