To make or change a user-defined hatch pattern, follow these steps:

  • To open the Hatching page of the Options dialogue, go to File > Options > Application Options > Drafting > Hatching. Click the Build button to open the Edit Hatch Pattern window and create a new user-defined hatch pattern.
  • To create or update a hatch pattern, use the dialogue.

In a few easy steps, here's how to use the command:

  • On the Home tab, go to the Draw panel.
  • A "Hatch creation" tab will appear.
  • On the Pattern section, you can fine-tune the pattern.
  • Select the approach you want to use: "Pick Points" or "Select Boundary Objects."
  • To apply the hatch, press "Enter" after you've filled the area.

In AutoCAD, the Hatch command is used to fill patterns within an enclosed region. Hatched, gradient, and solid fill designs are available. Gradient patterns are characterised as a gentle transition between two different hues.
