Brush Presets, which store all of the settings found in the Brush panel, is one of the most popular among users. The second format is Tool Presets, which stores everything on the Brush panel as well as all of the Mixer brush options bar settings.
Although it's technically called establishing a brush preset, many users refer to it as making a brush because it might also require adjusting the Brushes palette's settings. You begin by selecting a photo or painting a shape, then selecting Edit>Define Brush Preset.
In Adobe Photoshop, open a photo. When you activate the Brush tool, the Brush settings appear in the Options palette.
To open the Brush palette, press the triangle to the right of the word Brush.
The Load Brushes dialogue box will appear. From the list, select the brush preset you desire.
Tip.
Save Brushes after clicking the Brush Presets Options button. Fill in the set's name (with a ABR extension). Select where you wish to save the brush set by clicking the Save In (Windows) or Where (Mac) list arrow. Save the file.
From the toolbox, choose a Brush tool, then the Brush panel.
Select Expanded View from the Brush Options menu, then click OK.
Select a brush tip by clicking it. To see a larger version, click here.
