A layer style is nothing more than a combination of layer effects and blending settings applied to a layer. Drop shadows, strokes, and colour overlays are examples of layer effects.
Lighting Direction The illumination angle at which the effect is applied to the layer is specified.

To do so, conceal the layers you want to keep, right-click one of the visible layers (or press the Layers panel options menu button in the top-right), and select "Merge Visible" from the menu. To fast conduct this type of layer merging, hit the Shift + Ctrl + E buttons on your computer.
To combine all visible layers, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + E (PC) or Cmd + Shift + E (Mac). Instead, choose Flatten Image from the menu if you wish to merge all layers, including hidden ones.
The transparency of everything in the selected layer is affected by opacity. Fill changes the transparency of whatever is filling the layer, but ignores any effects. The name 'Fill' comes from this.
