Painting Characters with Layers and Shapes Part 2

The best way to describe layers is to think of them as translucent plastic sheets that are "layered" over the canvas. Lines and colour are painted onto one of these levels when painting. Artists frequently draw specific portions, lines, colours, drawings, final touches, and so on since paint on different layers may be handled individually.
