In the last topic we studied about Code Review. In this topic we will learn about Inspection. Let’s see what is Inspection? Why is it done? What are the benefits of the Inspection? Inspection means properly testing some things and verifying it. That's what we called Inspection. In Software Testing, Inspection is led by a trained moderator. In the Inspection there is a document, all the reviewers check it before the meeting. The reviewers who are there, will compare the actual work product with the reference document. How will they compare? They will compare the particular document based on a few rules and checklists. Inspection is a good method to be considered by an organization who wishes to have a good quality of product. We have taken a good example here. The concrete pouring that is there, when the building is built. You see that somewhere they put concrete in it, so that the building is properly made. Now doing an Inspection is very necessary. Even if a little concrete is less, you will know how much effect it will have. The entire building can fall because of a small earthquake or vibration. Right? So, you can see how important Inspection is in Static testing. Why should we do Inspection? What are the rules of Inspection? This inspection that we do, the author gets help to improve the quality of the document. All the defects we have identified through the inspection of the documentation. Those get removed instantly. The quality of the product will increase and we will provide a good document with a higher level of quality. There will be a common understanding in which there will be exchange of information among the participants. What did we learn? About the Inspection. How important is Inspection? Now we will see the next Dynamic Testing.
