Locators are used to identify HTML elements on a web page, and practically all UI automation tools have the ability to use locators for this purpose.
The following are the eight types of locators or identifiers provided by Selenium:
Id.
Name.
Class Name.
Tag Name.
Link Text.
Partial Link Text.
CSS.
XPath.
Locators in Selenium define an address that uniquely identifies a web element within a webpage. As a result, several types of locators can be used to properly and precisely identify site items. Selenium Webdriver supports the following types of locators: ClassName. ID.
