To interface with the outside world, the Raspberry Pi uses a range of input/output devices based on protocols like HDMI, USB, and Ethernet.
A variety of connections can be used to connect devices and components to your Raspberry Pi. The Interfaces tab is where you switch these different connections on and off so that your Raspberry Pi knows what they are.
The default username and password for a Raspberry Pi are pi and raspberry. You'll notice that the command line prompt now starts with pi@raspberrypi after you log in. You can now use the Raspberry Pi with terminal commands or by entering startx to boot the Pi into its GUI Desktop.
Raspberry Pi can act as a "Internet Gateway" for IoT devices because to its built-in quadcore processor. Pi works as a web server for uploading and transmitting sensor data on IoT platforms, powered by a cloud network.
