Instead of using the Raspberry Pi camera module, a conventional USB webcam can be used to take photographs and video on the Raspberry Pi. The camera module's quality and configurability are far superior to a regular USB webcam.
The Pi 4 can do a wide range of image recognition jobs, and the device's makers appear to have realized this. The computer has a specialized interface for the two types of cameras that are available separately from the Pi.
We'll need some processing power for facial recognition to perform successfully, therefore we recommend a Raspberry Pi 3B+, preferably a Raspberry Pi 4. The additional RAM will make a significant difference.
