Software on the Raspberry Pi can control multiple servos at once. A servo can be controlled by each numbered GPIO pin. However, using the Raspberry Pi to power the servos is not suggested.
Because a motor requires a variable supply of 5 volts, it cannot be operated directly from the Raspberry Pi's GPIO ports. This implies that it must be powered separately. Motor controller add-on boards, on the other hand, can provide this functionality.
