Python Control of 162 LCD Modules After you've experimented with LEDs, switches, and stepper motors, 162 alphanumeric LCD modules are a natural next step. These modules are inexpensive (around $10) and simple to connect to the Raspberry Pi. They contain 16 connections, but only 6 GPIO pins on your Pi are required.
Connect the screen's GND to any GND on the Pico (Black wire).
Connect VDD/VCC to the Pico's VBUS (Red wire)
SDA should be connected to I2C0 SDA (GP0, Physical pin 1, Orange wire).
SCK / SCL should be connected to I2C0 SCL (GP1, Physical pin 2, Yellow wire).
