The Raspberry Pi is a line of low-cost, programmable computers that have a set of GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) ports for connecting and controlling external electronic devices and creating Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
The Internet of Things is a network of sensors and connectivity integrated in physical products, cars, and appliances. The "Internet" is what allows "things" to collect, send, and exchange data through a network without the need for human interaction.
More strong and faster Raspberry Pi can handle more advanced functionality and multitasking than Arduino.
The builder recommends using a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 for this project, but it should work with other models with the addition of a Wi-Fi dongle. You'll also need some connections and, of course, smart gadgets to connect with in addition to a Raspberry Pi board.
