Working with Flange Tools

Autodesk Inventor is a CAD software for creating 3D models. Flange tools are used to create bodies, such as the head of a screw.

A flange is a shape that guides air or fluid. In Autodesk Inventor (AI), it is a thin, curved surface that follows the contour of an object. What makes the flange unique is it's ability to change its curvature as required.

Flange tools are a range of attachments that AutoCAD offer, which allows designers to simulate the flow of air within a duct. This is an important feature when designing internal ventilation systems and HVAC machines. One of the benefits is that it saves time and money by making the design process faster and easier.

Fillets are used to round the edges of a part to ensure that they don't cause any sharp or dangerous edges. Fillets are typically found at the bottom and top of a part. Flanges are used to mount parts over a surface and can be either cylindrical or conical in shape.

Flange tools are used to create a variety of shapes and apertures in 3D computer-aided design (CAD) models. They have been around for decades, but the latest advances in Autodesk Inventor software have made them easier to use.
