Ribs are thin wall-like features that give injection moulded objects support and rigidity. To eliminate sink marks, distortion, and voids, ribs are frequently utilised to replace thick wall portions.
Autodesk Inventor is a 3D CAD software used for designing and engineering tools. It is a powerful platform that can create detailed models in-house. It has a tool called Rib and Draft which can be used to create complex shapes from simple ones.
Rib is a term used in the design of metal objects in order to maximize the strength and stiffness. Draft is a term used to describe the circulation of air around an object or structure.
1 Select 3D Model tab Modify panel Draft from the ribbon.
2 Select the Parting Line draught type from the drop-down menu.
3 Define the direction of pull.
4 Select the Parting Tool from the drop-down menu.
5 Choose the faces you want to draught.
6 Use Automatic Blending to keep neighbouring blended elements, such as fillets, in place.
7 Fill in the draught angle.
Autodesk makes a variety of software for different industries, including 3D modeling, design, and CAM. Rib and Draft in Autodesk Inventor is a powerful tool that uses 3D printing to create prototypes. It also helps to save time by letting users simulate the whole manufacturing process before they make it.
