In Autodesk Inventor, there are a number of different types of slots. Slots are spaces that allow for the insertion of various parts into the design and for these parts to be manipulated. There are two types of slots: non-constrained and constrained slots.
The Through Slot command may be found in the Content tab, Holes panel drop-down on the ribbon. The Select a Slot - Through dialogue box appears when you click the Holes panel title and select the Through Slot icon. As you can see, there are a variety of Through slot classifications that may be added.
A slot is a virtual "hole" that can be placed into a 3D model. In Autodesk inventor, it's important to understand slots because they allow the user to create different types of holes in the model and use them for various purposes.
If you're crafting a 3D CAD model, then Autodesk Inventor might be the perfect software for you. It has a host of capabilities that make it easy to create a part that meets your specifications. It allows you to design, create and test your designs without having to use other programs or products that might not work with the software.
In only a few clicks, Autodesk Inventor gives you five alternative options for creating whatever slot you need. You can choose between Center to Center, Overall, or Center Point slots for straight slots. A brief illustration of the points you'd need to define to make each is shown below.
