Select the type of light you wish to make from the Create > Lights menu. The light is added to the scene's centre by default. To use the Light Editor, first, open it and then click any of the light icons. In the Light Editor, see Create and group lights. On the Rendering shelf, click the light icon.

Ambient light simply applies the same hue and intensity to all sides of an item, regardless of its position. In general, ambient light depletes the richness and variety of your environment, particularly in places not lighted by other light sources.
