What is EL and it’s usage

Use el before masculine singular nouns. Use la before feminine singular nouns. Use el before feminine singular nouns that begin with a stressed an or ha. Use los before masculine plural nouns.

A static method is mapped to an EL Function. In most cases, the function is defined in a TLD. For additional information on EL Functions, see the Unified EL Spec and the FunctionMapper class in the JSP 2.1 JavaDoc.
