In AngularJS, the "filter" Filter is used to filter array and object elements and then return the filtered items. In other words, this filter takes an array and selects a subset (a smaller array containing entries that fulfil the filter requirements) from it.

Filters in AngularJS allow us to format data for UI presentation without affecting the original format. Filters can be used in conjunction with an expression or directives that employ the pipe | sign. Angular contains a number of filters for formatting data of various types.

Filters are used to change the display text, style, and behavior of HTML elements. Filters can also be used to modify how an attribute is displayed or how an element is styled. Filters can be applied on HTML elements by using the ng-filter directive.

AngularJS has a lot of filters that can be used to filter data. The different types of filters in AngularJS are:

  • ng-repeat - iterates over an array and creates a new HTML element for each item in the array.
  • ng-if - checks if an expression is true or false and shows the element or hides it accordingly.
  • ng-class - assigns CSS classes to elements based on expressions.
  • ng-show/hide - show or hide elements based on expressions.
