A jQuery Selector is a function that uses expressions to discover matching elements in the DOM based on the criteria provided. Simply put, selectors are used in jQuery to pick one or more HTML components. Once an element has been picked, we can conduct a variety of actions on it.
Name: It chooses all elements that have the same name as the specified element.
#ID: It chooses a single element that has the same id as the specified one.
. Class: It selects all components that have the same class as the supplied one.
Universal(*) It chooses all of the elements in a DOM tree.
